PARSC R&S – 2ND ROUND ANNUAL SPECIES COMPETITION
EXCELLENT ANGLING IN GOOD CONDITIONS !
The second round of the annual PARSC Rock and Surf Species Competition was held over Open Areas within the club jurisdiction from 17h00 on Friday 30th September to 17h00 on Saturday 1st October . Conditions were good with warm seas that were not too rough and a moderate East wind . 16 Anglers fished the competition catching an overall 77.3 kg of edible fish consisting of 12 different species of which 100% were successfully released . This is an excellent catch considering each angler can only weigh in one fish per specie in this competition .
The top individual Angler for the day was Niel van der Linde with 6 species totalling 18.5 kg . He also caught the heaviest fish of the day , a cob weighing 8.7 kg . Three anglers tied for second place with 4 species each , namely Darian Keeton with a bag of 6.7 kg , Niall Borland with a bag of 12.4 kg and Greg Baxter with a bag of 5.8 kg . Other notable fish caught were a 4.4kg bronze bream caught by Darian Keeton , a 6.7 kg cob caught by Niall Borland and a 4.2 kg black musselcracker caught by Leonard Bodill , all of which were successfully released .
