PARSC ROCK AND SURF – ROUND 6 OF 2012 GM KENRICH ROUND ROBIN COMPETITION
The sixth round of the annual PARSC Rock and Surf GM Kenrich Round Robin Competition was held between the Boknes River and the Fish Kraals on Saturday 21st July . Conditions were good with a warm , working sea , however a sharply falling barometer which seemed to put the fish off the bite . Ten teams of 4 fished the competition , together with a number of individual anglers . Overall 42.8 kg of edible fish consisting of 7 different species were caught of which 98% were successfully released .
The team with the winning IGFA points on the day was Team 4 consisting of Adrian Besuidenhout , Leonard Bodill , Niall Borland and Jeremy Smith . Second place went to Team 1 consisting of Neil van der Linde ,Dave Kemp , Len Titmuss and Ryan Reeves with Team 3 consisting of Paul Knight,Terry Stewart , Don Murray and Iain Stewart coming 3rd . In the Round Robin League , Team 1 beat Team 5 , Team 2 beat Team 8 , Team 3 beat Team 7 and Team 4 beat Team 6 and Team 10 beat Team 9.

1ST : Team 1 : 988 pts (Neil van der Linde , Dave Kemp , Len Titmuss , Ryan Reeves )
2nd : Team 4 : 985 pts ( Adrian Bezuidenhout , Leonard Bodhill , Jeremy Smith , Niall Borland )
3rd : Team 2 : 806 pts (Darian Keeton , Simon Du Plessis , Brian Wright , Roy Labuschagne )
The top individual Angler was Adrian Bezuidenhout with a bag of 7.7 kg ,who also caught the heaviest shad 2.6 kg which also won him the Southeby’s catch of the day . He was followed by Brendon Marais with a bag of 6.4 kg , catching the heaviest cob 6.4 kg . Leonard Bodill came in third with 4.7kg . Niall Borland caught the biggest blacktail 1.3kg and the heaviest catface rock cod 1.4 kg , Dave Kemp caught the heaviest white steenbras 2.0 kg , Neil van der Linde caught the heaviest santer 1.4 kg .
Don Murray won the masters section (over 55’s) with 1.8 kg and Brendon Marais won the U21 section with 6.4 kg . There was no ladies section winner and Ross Bartlett won the U16 section with 3.8 kg .

The next PARSC Rock and Surf Competition will be the 7th Round of the GM Kenrich Round Robin which will be held between Riet River and Kleinemond West on the 18th of August .
