PARSC ROCK AND SURF – ROUND 3 OF 2014 GM KENRICH ROUND ROBIN COMPETITION

The 3nd round of the annual PARSC Rock and Surf GM Kenrich Round Robin Competition was between Riet River and Blacktail Rock. Conditions were average with a strong wind and cool temperatures. Never the less 83% of our member fished the competition. Overall 55kg’s of edible fish consisting of 9 different species with 32 as total were caught of which 94 % were successfully released.

The team with the winning IGFA points on the day was to Team 2 consisting of Adrian Bezuidenhout, Niall Borland, Lenard Bodill and Jeremy Smith. Team 4 consisting of Darian Keeton, Mark Pote, Brian Wright, and Simon du Plessis, ending up in 2nd place. In the Round Robin League, Team 1 beat Team 8, Team 9 beat Team 7, Team 6 beat Team 10, Team 2 beat Team 5 and Team 3 beat Team 4.

The Current Top Round Robin Teams are as follows:

Team 4 1st 511 (Darian Keeton, Mark Pote, Brian Wright, and Simon du Plessis)

Team 2 2nd 482 (Adrian Bezuidenhout, Leonard Bodill, Jeremy Smith, and Niall Borland)

Team 3 3rd 401 (L.Titmus, D. Kemp, K. Kemp and R. Reeves)

The top individual Angler was J. Smith, with a bag of 6.8kg, who also caught the heaviest Pignose Grunter, Adrian Bezuidenhout was the 2nd top angler for the day with a bag of 6.4kg and catching the heaviest Cob, Spotted Grunter, the 2nd heaviest fish of the day and the masters winner. 3rd heaviest fish for the day was a Mussel Cracker of 3.8kg going to Simon du Plessis. The sealed weight was 2.6kg and winning this was Lenard Bodill with a cracker of 2.5kg.The Buckland’s Reserve heaviest fish released prize was won by Paul Knight. The Sotheby’s catch of the day went to Dion Marais for his Mullet of 1.5kg.

The Ladies section was shared by Karen Kemp and Melissa du Randt with their catches of a Steenbras and a Blacktail respectively. The U16 section was won by Scott Knight who also got the Sotheby’s Catch of the Day, and the 3rd heaviest fish of the day.
