PARSC ROCK AND SURF – ROUND 2 OF 2014 GM KENRICH ROUND ROBIN COMPETITION

The 2nd round of the annual PARSC Rock and Surf GM Kenrich Round Robin Competition was between Mgwalana and Birha. Conditions were not good at all, with a howling wind and the red tide playing havoc with the fisherman. Never the less a number of members fished the competition, together with a few of individual anglers. Overall 12kg’s of edible fish consisting of 4 different species with 13 as total were caught of which 100 % were successfully released.

The team with the winning IGFA points on the day was Team 4 consisting of Darian Keeton, Mark Pote, Brian Wright, and Simon du Plessis, Team 3 consisting of Len Titmuss, Dave Kemp, Karen Kemp and Ryan Reeves came in second place. Third place went to Team 2 consisting of Adrian Bezuidenhout, Niall Borland, Lenard Bodill and Jeremy Smith In the Round Robin League, Team 9 beat Team 1, Team 10 drew against Team 8, Team 2 beat Team 7 , Team 3 beat Team 6 and Team 4 beat Team 5.

The Current Top Round Robin Teams are as follows:

Team 4 1st 347 (Darian Keeton, Mark Pote, Brian Wright, and Simon du Plessis)

Team 2 2nd 305 (Adrian Bezuidenhout, Leonard Bodill, Jeremy Smith, and Niall Borland)

Team 3 3rd 299 (Paul Knight, Terry Stewart, Don Murray and Bruce Amos)

The top individual Angler was J. Smith, who also caught the heaviest Black Tail 1.1kg, Darian Keeton came in 2nd place, also catching the Heaviest White Steenbrass 1.7kg, also winning the Masters category, and the Buckland’s Reserve heaviest fish released prize. Mark Pote came in third and Ryan reeves was 4th for the day catching the biggest Cob 1.2kg. So only a few fish were caught by a number of people.

The Ladies section was won by Karen Kemp with her Cob of .7kg and the U16 was won by Luke Erasmus who also got the Sotheby’s Catch of the Day, and the 3rd heaviest fish of the day.
