EASTER BONANZA SKIBOAT COMPETITION. 19th, 20th 21st APRIL 2014.
Good Day to All Skiboat Anglers,
This is a notice informing you of the Easter Bonanza Competition taking place on the 19th, 20th and 21st April 2014. ( Easter Weekend )
The main prize is the 16foot skiboat with two Suzuki Outboards plus galvanised trailer worth R 250000. This is the same boat that was fished for in our Christmas Bonanza which was not won as the biggest fish did not match or exceed the laid down weight.
This time the fish has to be won as it will go to the angler accumulating the most points.
The basics of the competition are as follows:
Registration : 18th April at 4.00 pm at club.
Fishing : 2days out of the 3 ( 19th, 20th ,21st ) which will be controlled by conditions.
Line Class: Open.
Points Scoring System.: Will be based on the National Point Scoring System ( i.e. fish weight squared X 1 ) for the first two species of fish weighed. The next species weighed will result in the total points at that stage being doubled, the fourth species trebles the points.etc. Therefore should any angler land ten different species the total points will be multiplied by nine
Example : Angler A catches a 50kg Yellowfin only Angler B catches the following :
Total points 50 Cob 5 kg
Santer 2 + 7 X 1 = 7 points
Geelbek 3 = 10 X 2 = 20 points
ANGLER B wins Scotsman 3 = 13 X 3 = 39 points
Dageraad 2 = 15 X 4 = 60 points
NB!! So you can now see that the emphasis is on catching as many species as possible and not necessarily the biggest fish !!!
Size limits of fish apply but if if 1kg falls within the species size then 1 kg is the minimum allowable weight.
Species that will not be allowed are Copper Steenbras, Seventy Four, Black Steenbras, Yellowbelly at this stage ( the full list of qualifying species including gamefish will be issued to you on registration.
We already have 11 boats entered so the quicker you contact me the better as we cannot allow unlimited numbers
