ANNUAL INTERCLUB ROCK AND SURF COMPETITION BETWEEN PARSC AND ALEXANDRIA ANGLING CLUB .
The annual interclub rock and surf competition between PARSC and the Alexandria Angling Club was held in the area from the Kariega River to the Kranzes near Woody Cape on Saturday 24th September . Conditions were tough with extremely rough seas and strong easterly winds . Approximately 14 anglers from each club braved the conditions . As 2011 was Alexandria Clubs turn to host the competition they chose the competition rules which meant Fishing an area selected by them and that only the largest fish of each species caught by all of each club’s anglers would count towards the total weight , which would determine the winning club .
Alexandria caught 3 species totalling 3.4kg , with Rassie Erasmus their top angler with 2.9kg . PARSC caught 5 species totalling 8.7 kg , with Leonard Bodill their top Angler with a cob of 4.4kg which was also the largest fish of the competition . This meant that the PARSC Rock and Surf Team won the day , the first time they had won in Alexandria waters since 2005 . The handing over of the Interclub Competition Shield was followed by a braai at the Alexandia Club , which was enjoyed by all . A special thanks to Tommy Parkinson and the Alexandria angling Club members for hosting this event .
The next PARSC Rock and Surf Competition will be the second round of the Species Competition to be held from 17H00 on Friday 30th September till 17h00 on Saturday 1st October in Open Areas . Weigh in at the PARSC clubhouse at 17h00 on Saturday .
